I was driving in my car the other day listening to Zig Ziglar and he was talking about setting and achieving your goals.  One thing he said really stuck out to me that particular day.  It was “if you always do what you did you will always get what you got.”  When we look at our financial situations, does this not apply?!  Many of us wish we had more control over our money, that we could get ahead, but we seem to fall back into the same routines and habits that have given us the same results for years.  Over the years you may have upgraded your income by leaps and bounds, but you still find yourself living paycheck to paycheck and finding it hard at times to make ends meet.  Why is that?  What have you done, or not done, differently to change your outcomes?

I have a friend whose uncle is a PE Teacher.  I know, when you hear of PE Teachers immediately you think of BIG BUCKS!  Right?  J/k  In reality he brings in about $35,000 to $40,000 a year.  If you were to drive up to his house you would think he was a CEO of a thriving business.  His home is worth close to $700,000 and he lives very comfortably.  What is the difference?  He chose not to do what every other PE Teacher does, and that is why he gets to enjoy more of life than every other PE Teacher gets.  He doesn’t think like other people think.  He doesn’t accept the mentality of scarcity that so many of us have had drilled into our belief system.  Instead, he believes in a world of abundance, and lives in abundance as a result.

I heard of a couple of brick mason contractors who made nearly the same amount each year for a number of years.  One, is still living paycheck to paycheck and just can’t get ahead.  The other is well on his way to retirement.  All on the same amount coming in from their main jobs.
