Last summer I attended the Saratoga Springs Referral NetworX meeting and was reminded of a great quote that I think is applicable to anybody running their own business or working towards a specific goal. Michael Douglas from Construction Monsters was the speaker and did an excellent job! Anyway, the quote that he shared that I feel is very applicable to life is “Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly, until you can do it well!” Do you have a passion for something, but are too afraid to try it out? Our you afraid of failure? I encourage you not to be. The businesses that are succeeding in this economy learn to embrace their failed attempts and improve the way they do business. Many businesses are afraid to pull the trigger on certain ideas because they are unsure about the outcome. Don’t be shy. Try things out on a small scale to test it out and learn from it. Most of the time the people we look up to started out doing what they do poorly, until they have mastered what they do, or have become pretty darn good at it. Don’t be afraid to do something new, even if it is done poorly. You can learn great things!
